News / A wish for wings that worked
« Last post by Nanako on August 18, 2015, 09:01:27 AM »
After saving Grom for inclusion in future expansions, our team moved back to the portal entrance and into Iskar's Clutch (I guess a major selling point for being enslaved to the Burning Legion is having rooms name after yourself).  Inside this clutch, we found an old friend who demonstrated to us the lengths that some will do to get ahead in Draenor Pathfinder to finally fly in Draenor.  This won't stand... If we can't fly, neither can you!  With some fine coordination, grit and help from Exorsus Raid Tools or Iskar Assist (It is startling the amount of time folks will lag out or have addon issues when they get Phantasmal Winds debuff), we brought an end to Shadow-Lord Iskar and had a fine fried chicken meal afterwards.

This kill brought the Old Guard to 8/13 in Heroic Hellfire Citadel.

News / We sow the seeds of his demise
« Last post by Nanako on August 18, 2015, 08:35:59 AM »
Continuing our push into Heroic Hellfire Citadel, we entered the Destructor's Rise and came upon the strangely named Grommash's Torment.  Inside this room, we found Fel Lord Zakuun torturing Grommash Hellscream.  If all things were fair, we probably would join in with Fel Lord Zakuun beating on Grommash Hellscream since, well, this whole Iron Horde and invading our Azeroth timeline is kinda on his Grom's shoulders.  But this being a Blizzard game with only Metzen emo heavy metal orcs being the true WoW protagonists, we saved Grom so he could be easily forgiven for nearly wiping out the Draenei in Draenor and the previously mentioned invading-our-whole-timeline thing.  All is forgiven old alternate-timeline chap, we hope you can steal our kills in some future content.

This kill brought the Old Guard to 7/13 in Heroic Hellfire Citadel.

With Killrogg Deadeye pushing fel daisies, the Old Guard backtracked around the Halls of Blood and entered the Maw of Souls (which sounds far more terrifying than Deadeye's Vision).  Inside the maw, we found the bloated monstrosity Gorefiend.  Apparently Draenei souls are very high in carbs indeed...

With much dashing, running around and add management - the theme of this raid instance - in a room not designed for raids with over 20 members, we finally managed to down the blunderous kiddie-pool floating behemoth.  He will never conquer all you can eat buffets in Auchindoun anymore.  Hurrah.

This kill brought the Old Guard to 6/13 in Heroic Hellfire Citadel.

After bringing down the Hellfire High Council, the Old Guard traveled further into the Halls of Blood.  We entered a large chamber oddly called Deadeye's Vision and encountered the suprisingly not-a-hunter-yet-has-a-hunter's-name, Killrogg Deadeye.  Unlike the last two encounters, the green goo guzzling orc put up a very strong fight that nearly ended in a draw but we managed to deliver the decisive blow before his debuffs finished the last of us off.  Always the best kills...

This kill brought the Old Guard to 5/13 in Heroic Hellfire Citadel at that point....

News / Was that actually a boss fight?
« Last post by Nanako on July 30, 2015, 07:23:28 PM »
After we spent some time beating on Iron Reaver in unfavorable conditions with a large raid, we finally traveled into Heroic Hellfire Citadel itself.  We hooked a right into a hallway heading north.  We entered a large room with three pools and several large creatures.  We surprisingly brought down the largest creature, Kormrok, with little to no difficulty.  So little difficulty, we nearly forgot to take a first kill photo.  We managed to take one but the body had already despawned.

From the pits we made our way past numerous Hellfire Guardians, Fel Touched Seers, Fel Hellweavers and Assassins into the Halls of Blood.  Inside the Halls of Blood, we encountered Dia Darkwhisper, Gurtogg Bloodboil and Blademaster Jubei'thos...  better known as the Hellfire High Council.  They didn't put up much of a fight...

These kills brought the Old Guard to 4/13 in Heroic Hellfire Citadel at that point....
