After several nights of hard work, the Old Guard managed to defeat Nefarian in Blackwing Descent. This was a complete guild victory with members coming in every raid night and others serving as backup ready to step in at a moment's call. This encounter was hard and everyone kept picking themselves off the ground through all of those hours of glasschewing. With this level of cooperation and team work, we can go far in this expansion.

This victory brings a close to Blackwing Descent (normal mode) for the Old Guard. We have completed the first tier level of raids in Cataclysm as a guild on normal difficulty. The Old Guard has completed the guild achievement Guild Glory of the Cataclysm Raider (http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=4988) along with Defender of a Shattered World (http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=5506) for our members (with a noticeably blue Reins of the Dark Phoenix (http://www.wowhead.com/item=63125) as a reward). Even with these achievements, our work is not done. Our next goal is to begin work on heroic modes to bring down Lady Sinestra.
